Your mentor will get to know you and your plans for the future. If you are unsure what you want to do we have specially trained Careers Advisers who can give you lots of information about what jobs/learning/courses might be suitable for you.
Your mentor will help you with the things that might be getting in the way of you getting to where you want to be and also works very closely with many other services that can help if need be. If we can’t do it it’s very likely we know somebody who can!
Most importantly your mentor will stay with you until you feel you no longer need any help so you won’t have to tell your story to lots of different people.
You will get your own action plan documenting where you want to be and how we will help you get there which we will review regularly and change as and when we need to.
That all depends on what you want to do. Whilst you are on Springboard you will get the opportunity to boost your skills by taking part in activities and sessions if you wish to do this to help you prepare for work. We can also get you access to English, Maths and ICT courses if you want to and many different training opportunities and tasters.
We can refer you for learning, training and/or help you with searching and applying for jobs when you are ready.
We can help you feel ready to go to work and can write a CV with you, give you lots of tips about interviews and we even have access to a small fund for every learner that can help cover costs of things like interview clothes, travel and getting to interviews (conditions apply).
